Every phone should have a copy of the NATO phonetic alphabet next to it. Well, that and emergency numbers of course.
I don’t know how I managed to go so long without knowing the NATO phonetic alphabet. Seriously, who hasn’t had to spell out their name, address, or provide a cryptic serial number over the phone at least once? What about when the person on the other end reads back what they’ve recorded? What that an “F” or an “S” he just said?
I’m feeling especially benevolent today, so I’ll share my emergency numbers sheet (NATO phonetic alphabet included):
